I've raised a few of this species. Parents are very protective, they start schooling at around 5 and are free swimming at 7. Juveniles are very independent. They take a lot of work, and are an expensive hobby but well worth it. They do best with 5 or 6 full diaper changes a day for the first two years.

Congratulations!
