My brother's dog used to push everything (bedding, toys, etc) against one side of the crate, leaving himself with just a tiny little corner to sleep in. It sure looked cramped and uncomfortable, but we think that it just made him feel more tucked in and secure.

If you don't mind a photographic suggestion, try getting down to Neo's level like you would when photographing kids.
And make sure you have plenty of lens cloths to wipe the inevitable dog nose and tongue prints off the lens!
This pic of my brother's dog was taken by me lying on my stomach on the grass. If he hadn't come so close, I would have gotten his legs in frame too. But I love the way his face came out - so different from when he's looking up at me.
