I was going to buy a goldfish to live in a Big bowl. However I have decided I don't want a goldfish and I am looking for another fish that can handle the same water conditions as a goldfish. I only want to buy ONE fish.

I am not interested in tropical fish as then I will have to run a heater 247.

Opened for fish suggestions thank you.

Neocaridina shrimp only. Bowls are too small for fish. Maybe a single betta but they require heaters and a small filter.

Good, because Goldfish get huge and a bowl is the absolute worst option.

Also what is a big bowl 3 gallons?

Why do you only want a bowl?

A Betta might be alright but it depends upon the location it will be in. Winter temps cool or cold in the house fish get too cool, 75F to 86F is their temp range, AC can make it too cold for them too.

Bowls less than about 2G are not really suitable for a humane environment. Think if you had to live in a small room your whole life. Even nearly all prisoners get out to eat, exercise and have activities. Otherwise the fish can survive sadly.

Smaller the tank /container, the more often you have to do water changes due to toxic build up.
