New Disney Movie

Hey, does anyone think that SW fish will go up in price after this new movie, Finding Nemo? I remember Dalmations went up after 101 Dalmations. Just curious what other people thought.

I think there will be a lot of parents trying to keep "little nemos" in fish bowls for a while

Yeah, it's a bummer, about people and their uninformed purchases. I go through the same thing at Easter; everyone goes out and gets a cute little bunny and give it away or turn it into the yard after it's not so cute anymore. I live with 4 former Easter bunnies from a shelter and the local woods.

I doubt you will see a rise in the price in SW fish. Most people feel (incorrectly) that anyone can maintain and own a dog. You saw prices go up on dalmations, you also saw the number of dalmations in rescue programs and humane societies skyrocket as people realized they could not meet the special needs of this animal. Most people do not feel that anyone can own a SW fish tank. They may buy their kids a betta and name it nemo, but there will not be a boon in the SW fish industry, after all, The Little Mermaid did not increase prices or interest in the SW hobby.

I sure hope it does not cause everyone and their sister to run out to the fish store. I suspect when mom and dad see a clown fish for $20 or more they will quickly change their mind about having one.

Your LFS sells mermaids? How much do they cost? I would like to invest in one.

Oh come on you know you were thinking it

I work at Toys R Us and they already have plenty of Nemo toys.

We have a stuffed clownfish that talks and moves its fins for 20 bucks. There is also tons of little ones for around 10 bucks. Any way I can't wait to see the movie.

Oh yeah, I can't wait to see the movie either. I swear, there hasn't been one commercial for the movie that I haven't laughed out loud.
