Tonight we acquired completely for free, a 26 year old, african grey parrot. His name is Pepper and he has about 500 words and sounds he makes. His previous owners are planning on travelling so they wanted a good home for him. So that now brings us to 6 cats, 11 fish tanks and one bird. LOL.
We have him in the cage so he gets used to his new surroundings.

Thanks guys, he's got my heart already. He is so entertaining. He imitates a phone ringing, little turkey has me running for the phone every 15 minutes it seems.

My friends' CAG does that...so perfectly that he fools me virtually every time...drives me insane.

He's saying "FINE! I'm used to my surroundings! Now let me out so I can show those cats what happens when they mess with the birdie!!"

I used to work in a pet shop where we'd clap and say "Rocky!" to get the hyacinth macaw back in his enclosure at night. The resident Congo learned to mimic the clapping and say "WOCKY!!!" at closing time. I thought it was very convincing, but Rocky never fell for it.

Congratulations! What a beautiful bird! Is he friendly yet? I've heard it can take them kind of a long time to warm up to new owners. We always wanted a bird but we're afraid that it would end up barking and swearing LOL!

Nice looking bird you got there Zagz. Any chance there is an animal you don't have living with you?
