My family could not tolerate me breeding crayfish to feed my puffers. I will have to tear down my 29g and do something else with it :(

Only dead crustaceans for my puffs indefinitely. Live worms occasionally though.

I will feed the rest to my puffs :d it was part of the deal with my family.

This is just frustration. I know exactly what I want to do with the 29g :)

When you get married, then it's all about compromises. I'm also 87'.

Why did that upset them? Did they grow attached to the crays or what? If they are bred for the purpose of becoming food, what's wrong with that?

The only objection I think I would get from my household is that the puffers got to eat crawfish instead of us, haha. If I had a tank full of big crays I would be a bit worried that I would come home to a plate full of boiled crawfish and a tank devoid of puffer food...

Yes, we do! Last crawfish boil I went to, I think we did around 50lbs... My first pet crays were oddities found in the ones my dad got shipped to his restaurants. I had whites, blues, oranges. All pretty much for free!
