Pepper is trying to learn to fly - Aquarium Advice

Ok for all that may not know, Pepper is my now 28 year old African grey parrot adoptee. He has never flown as in his previous home he plucked out his feathers. The video isn't great but it was a spur of the moment dive for the camera, so I apologize. He will be going for a wing clip very soon, little turd.

Poor thing... I can't imagine trying to deal with a bird who has been so stressed that it plucks. I try to encourage my macaw to fly home to his cage from across the room, but it's hard for him to gain enough lift in such a small space. He'd rather walk across the entire house than fly anywhere.

The video is not that bad.

I especially like the commentary! Something along the lines of "I'm glad I got the camera...nobody would beleive it."

Hehe, the commentary was while I was on the phone holding the baby. It was more shock than anything. LOL

My grad school roommate had a budgie that loved to fly around the apartment. Actually, it was more like hovering from place to place since the rooms weren't that big. When he and his fiancee moved into a house, they had to clip her wings (the bird's, not the fiancee's

) because she kept flying into windows, mirrors and pictures.
