pomegranets

soooo, I'm being adventurous and trying to eat a pomegranate. Well, I looked up online on how to get the seeds out (and that you are supposed to eat those seeds). So, they are out, in a bowl, lots of red juice on the counter but my sweatshirt (it's grey ) has gone relatively unscathed. Now, what do I do with the seeds. Just eat them? Is there a limit? Will pomegrantets start growing in my tummy? ( ). Can I make anything with them?

I bet this is the 1st thread ever started just on pomegranates

Thanks for the help!

Nicole

You are going to be pretty disappointed. All you can do is suck out the juice and then toss the seed.

pooh... all that work for practically nothing. No wonder hardly anyone ever eats these! I did find that you can eat the entire seed... Well, thanks anyway!

I always eat the seeds -- I love pomegranates despite the work involved. By the way, grenadine is made from pomegranates too.

I love pomegranates, but they are such a mess to eat. I have a Turkish-Cypriot friend who grew up eating these things - she eats the seeds and claims that they help aid digestion!

If you want the delicious flavor and can't be bothered with the seeds...

All the delis in NYC carry this stuff.

What's up with the pomegranates? I just read an Oprah article that stated pomegranates are "in" for 2006! How the heck can a fruit be in or out? Plus when I was at the food store I saw pomegranate juice for the first time, think it was called POM and the price they wanted for that stuff I guess pomegranates are really "in" this year :[acronym:51301632cd="Rolling on the floor laughing"]rofl[/acronym:51301632cd]:

I lost interest when I saw oprah in the thread. Her and dr. phil are worthless marketing scams. I know I will catch slack for that comment.

Actually in terms of being able to "market" something Oprah's name is gold. I know what you mean though.......
