If you have a custom, project, or muscle car please feel free to post your pics and give some info on it.

Recently I started working on my '79 Firebird again. I've had the car for about 5-6 years, but I'm just getting back to it. I have a remanufactured Chevy 350 w/ stock cam and 9:1 compression ready to drop in it. I have a factory aluminum intake manifold w/ a Holley 600 cfm carb. for it, and dual exhaust w/ headers. I just bought a freshly rebuilt TH350-c transmission w/ some "goodies" inside and a TCI 2000 stall converter yesterday. The lock-up style converter should help improve MPG on the highway. I would like to finish the looks of the car by adding a front spoiler and some nice 17" rims and tires along w/ the missing chrome strips under the doors. It should be a good daily driver, dependable and decent on gas, while still being fun to drive. I hope to get at least 25 mpg on the highway- hopefully. Anyway here are some pics-

Alright! Thanks for posting and to Fishyfanatic for fixing my pics.

DeFekt, I'm not up on my aussie cars. An ute would be an El Camino over here I think. It's a GM product right? Your GF's SS ute is Pretty cool to see b/c they have not sold them in the US AFAIK for awhile now. Good luck w/ your project.

Mike, you guys know how to live! No need to even comment on the Camaro, it's beautiful, and the Jeep looks like TONS of fun. (y)

Yellow Jobber, the car is looking really good. As I said, I like the engine choice. You don't see that combo a lot. So you are basically going to have a brand new 1979 T/A when your done with it(w/ the new suspension parts, brakes, etc.). Any idea of when it will be road ready?

It probably won't be done for another couple of years. I still need a tranny (T56 6 speed manual), rear end needs rebuild, interior installed with new dash, wring harness modified, body work and paint, etc, etc. Its best not to think about it.

Erm, well, my project car at the moment is just an engine and gearbox from a Citroen 2CV (as depicted in my avatar), I have ideas for it, but ideas require money, something of which I don't have very much of... :(

Just so you know, a 2CV is a small French car that is very efficient for it's age, initially the engine was 325cc, then gradually was increased to 602cc at about 32bhp, and a derivative of the 2CV had an engine at about 35bhp with a higher compression ratio, all of which are air-cooled. Anyways, I was thinking about a beach buggy type thing, something like what often a Beetle engine is used in, and try to use all-original 2CV parts (steering, suspension, chassis, seats (very comfy!!!), headlights, etc.), I think it'd be pretty nippy and cool looking (until I tell people it's actually a 2CV!!!!)... :D

But, as I said, money is the missing factor, so may not happen for a while... :(

here ya go..
I finally got it kicking over on the weekend..
Gearbox & Clutch is back in, dash is back in including all the ducting and wiring (After these pics), Heaterbox is in, brake booster and master cyl is back in,

Panels are now going back on.. Still got heaps to do, but getting there slowly..
