Scientists ID living coral as 4,265 years old

Saw this article this morning, pretty cool stuff! Figured I would share it with all of you... here's a clip of the article:

"A species of coral from off the coast of Hawaii is more than 42 centuries old, making it among the oldest continuously living organisms on the planet, according to a research team led by a Texas A&M University scientist."

42 centuries is impressive.
Water conditions must have been just right and very stable there for a long time.
