Just wondering if anyone else is also into SCUBA diving also.

If so....do you know of any good forums on the net??

I have been diving for 4 years now. I started it for work reasons and it has kept me in the training.

I am certified since I am 15! Due to money and time issues, I don't get to dive much, but love every minute of it when I do!

Diving for 20 years now...although I do not see so much active diving time these past 4 years as I did in the past (especially when I lived on the coast).

I am a dive nut. :D Go to Cozumel almost every year and am going to Turks and Caicos in July for 2 week....yipee!!
Check out http://www.scubadiving.com its a great forum.
You can find me there from time to time with the same username.

Well, I am in the process of picking up all my gear.....I am taking lessons in 2 months.....I figure I live on the coast in Soutern North Carolina.....I have to learn to dive....can't wait....there are 2 shipwrecks around here that dive trips go too where you can dive with sharks.....non aggressive ones luckily.....but it is supposed t be an experience.....

QS- That was my first clearwater diving. Most of my diving is in local lakes. Lots of great diving. We are planning another trip back this summer for some rock wall dives instead of the wrecks.

They shoot you if you even step into the Glenmore, and diving 48" of fast-moving, freezing water is somehow just not as appealing as Quadra Island in August. :p

i just got my certification last year with a friend for my 15th birthday. and i love it. i live right near monteray and even if its freezing you see the most amazing things. the harbor seals get a little to playful at times though. really, monteray and carmel are places you really should check out

NFG- I figured there was more than just a few around you. The east coast is littered with wrecks. A great place to see lots of interesting sea life.

That and the state has a program to create an artificial reef along the state....they sink donated vessels for the reef program....sink something...give it 5-7 years...and it becomes a GREAT place to dive.

Here is a good article on the wreck dives off the coast...tells a bit about them each:

And here's one about the one of the shark dives off our coast:

I dive as often as I can. Dive in Monterey, Carmel, Mendocino area. NFG, have you dove any of those wrecks? I would love to make a trip to the east coast to check it out one of these days.

Not yet....I don't have my certification yet, but summer is very long here and each month I have two 3-day breaks from work as well as one 7-day break.....lots of time for dive charters.
