Huh... that is something I have debated myself, how exactly these water conditioners affect the fish. I wonder how much credibility is behind this article.
I saw another thread about something like this today. I love prime.
I have three 5g jugs I set up to sit for awhile. I use that water for my flowerhorn's tank. The rest, I let the water sit for a good hour. What difference that makes, I have no clue. But, it makes me feel better. haha. And yea, I stick to Prime. I'm on the verge of buying one of those big handle jugs.

well when you think of it that way everything and anything is a chemical that we add in our tanks co2 for example and fertsjetajockey said:FWIW, h2o is a chemical also.
TheCrazyFishLady said:What do you mean by "bad tanks"? And yea, it works out fine. But, don't you ever wonder about some of this junk we throw in the tanks without really thinking? Like, I had a jar of freeze-dried blood worms that had a warning that they are a carcinogen. Don't even bother reading the MSDS behind the chemicals we use to treat diseases. It's amazing fish don't float more frequently...
TheCrazyFishLady said:I meant "chemical" in the negative connotation, of unnatural species.

Even still, what is the summary? What does Prime (or any other water conditioner) do that is bad for the tank/livestock?
