Stupid question

This may seem like a stupid question but when using a level to level an aquarium, does it have to face a certain way? With 2 different levels(1 brand new) if use it with the logo facing me it gives me off level. If I use it with the logo facing toward the wall it gives me almost level?
Can anyone help?

Down load I handy carpenter on your smart phone, or if it's filled just look at the water line in relation to trim, water always finds true level
