Awesome. My ONLY regret in life is not joining the U.S. armed forces when I got done with with high school. Unfortunately my priorities were a little different back then... I love those men and women and I give serious props to any soldier or anyone who plans on being one. I'm with fishyfinatic on this one, really tugs at the heart strings.

Very nice. As the grandaughter of a WWII POW, and as a person who grew up in a miltary community ( Fort Hood, Texas ) I give my support to those who have chosen to serve.

I don't think it is war that they make glorious. I think it is what you get out of it that is glorious. Not everything about the army is war.

its about serving and protecting your country and family, keeping peace, and knowing you've done your share to make the world better for someone, whether is overthrowing a dictator in africa or the mid east or helping to prevent dictators from emerging

the army isnt for starting wars, its for preventing them, and protecting those unfortunate in foreign countries

meh, i stand with my word. I just dont think that war is a good way to settle things. Its probably just because us canadians have just started to loose alot of troops, almost 2 a day. Makes me sad. First one died from my town a coucple weeks ago. Just don't like it!

No one wants war especially not the soldier.

It is the soldier that stands ready to serve and defend the ideals and freedoms of all including those who are unwilling or unable to serve. The greatest part about the U.S. Military is that it is an all volunteer force.

It is very sad whenever we lose a soldier and there is not a worse duty in the world I can think of than presenting the flag to the family of a fallen comrade while TAPS is played. Been ther done that.

The only way I can get through it is to think that that soldier volunteered to protect and defend the freedoms we all to often take for granted both in the U.S. and around the world.

So I proudly put on my uniform every day knowing that not all agree with what I do, but I do it so they have the right to disagree. Unfortunately, there are people at home and abroad who are all to eager if given the chance to take away those rights.

So go ahead and disagree and protest what current government policy is. I and my comrades will be right here ensuring you have the right to do just that as long as a STRONG free ARMY exists.

Sorry, just the humble ranting of a soldier.
