Well, we just had our local Annual Dog Show this weekend. It was awsome, had a really great time. My trainer didn't do too bad either, her Sheltie took 3rd place with a 98 out of 100 for her first leg of Rally Novice B. Then she NQ'd on Sunday, was the trainers fault and not the fault of the dog. She got off track.

As for her BC, she NQ'd on both her Utility B and Rally Advanced B on Saturday, but took 1st place with a 98 out of 100 on her Rally Advanced B. This was her 3rd leg, which is her Title.

Now for the subject, Too Smart. If her BC would wait for the trainers command, she would have scored high. But the BC was doing what the judge said. When it came to the scented articles, and after he placed the scented article, he would say, "ok, send your dog". Before she could get turned around, her dog was already off to get the article. As for the glove, when the judge said "Glove 2", the dog was off before the trainer could send her and gets the correct glove. This is her main problem, and why she keep's NQ'ing. And yes, the BC does understand "Glove 1, Glove 2, and Glove 3", lol. And for the jump, when the judge said "Bar Jump", she took off again and took the bar jump, lol. The trainer didn't even get to point at the jump, lol. Now, is this a smart dog or what? lol.......

Help gang...I never know where to go to answer....not to mention my slow dial-up keeps kicking me off...Yes, I have 2 wonderful wolfhounds...after having Dobermans for over 20 years...saw them at a show and it was love at first sight....figured I lost my Dobes young to Cancer so why not go with a breed I really want even though they don't live as long?? I am having trouble with my printer...try to work on that tomorrow...don't really know how to use it right...however, they are on a website if you want to take a gander at them...TORTEVAL IRISH WOLFHOUNDS . It is Torteval Irishwolfhounds on the island of Guernsey...if you click on the left under "Near and Far" and go to North America and scroll down, youl will come to Murphy and Shayla..The Hounds of the Hills...hope you can see them...they are my life...love greyhounds also....love to walk into a store with both of the bigger than me. Shayla is only 2 and Murphy 5..Murphy has been ill with anal glad infection...horrible....really scares me...never had that problem before. Ring Obedience/agility is not the greatest act for them, but they do mind...as big as they are, I would be in real trouble...but I have always obedience trained my dogs..

Where do I go when my outlook express gives me a message? Do I just click on the link?

I don't know if that went through...will try it without prefix...she gets a lot of junk due to being one of the biggest wolfhound sites in the world...it is great !! irishwolfhounds-guernsey.com

Let me know if you get there...

Curly

Lonewolf....are you showning your own dog??? you will love to hear that I showed Dobermans with UNCROPPED EARS !!! did it just to be hard-headed...got a lot of blue ribbons if there wasn't another dog in their class...but never a point...they were beautiful and big too...but because I refused to crop their ears...the "society" blackballed me...who cares ???

Love the dog show pics! (the plecos are cool too!).....I never had to worry about the obedience portion of the shows.....you know, sighthounds....'I don't mind because you don't matter'.....how many greyhounds/whippets do you see at the conformation portion of the shows? LOL

hehehe, saw so many greyhounds in the conformation, lol. I took a few looks over at the Conformation rings when it was the Herding Breeds, but it was kind of boring, lol. The Rally is my fav.

Yup, dog shows are a blast, I really enjoyed helping my trainer. I'm hoping to have at least 2 dogs in the show here next year, still have a ways to go though. And if I could get Betty's issues solved, then I could start getting titles with her. She would be a snap, have worked with her over a year and she'd probably score 100's on all her Rally Novice entries, lol. She's just so good.

Here's a video of a little practice. And it looks like she's on my right, but she was really on my left. Some reason the laptop was in Flip mode, so it recorded wrong.

That's just a little bit of Rally practice. Heeling, left turns, right turns, about turns, sits, downs, etc. She does very well, been practicing for over a year.

Not sure on the Outlook Express question. As for my dogs, I have not shown yet. But hopefully my Sheltie and Border Collie will be ready in about 6 months. Wish I could show the Cattle Dog, but she's got some dog-dog issues.

As for me, I'm more into the herding group, but sounds like MsBeanCtr is into the sighthounds. For placing pics on the forum, you need to have another place to upload your pics to first, then you can place them on here to view.
