Treating tap water with ozone?

I have a betta fish with some shrimp and a snail in a 4 or 5 gallon tank. I was wondering if treating tap water with an ozone generator before adding it to the tank would be better for them? I know it breaks down chlorine, pesticides, and any biologicals but I am having trouble finding information regarding treating the water before adding it to the tank. Are there any byproducts I should be concerned about?

I would probably stick to aquarium specific water treatments.

Looks like it is a saltwater thing so I would do as ZxC suggests .
