Keep in mind that black diamond blasting sand is coal slag and is magnetic so if you use a magnetic algae cleaner it will pick the sand up and scratch the glass. I found out the hard way.

Black Eco Complete isn't totally black, here you can see it in some detail. FTS is a stock black back, it comes that way from the factory no choice.

Here is the graduated blue back ground with Garnet sand. Not a good pic but you get the idea of the background.

here you can see the sand better, most accurate color is in the center between the fish.

Btw I love the garnet sand!! It is beautiful. Where did you get it? I may have to use it when I get bored with the black diamond.

From a sand blasting sand/media company. Most larger cities have suppliers and have many sand options. unitedwesterndenver dot com. I think there are other locations throughout the country. They do ship ($ as much as the sand costs lol, appx $18. for 50lbs) but many companies who offer abrasives also offer Garnet sand blasting sand. It is fun and is actually garnets. This kind comes from Idaho where it is mined, Emerald Creek. It is very clean because of what it is used for. I couldn't resist trying it.
