I did a 30% pwc Saturday and added salt. Adding epsom salts as a fin rot treatment since antibiotics didn't work. So that is where my tank is at.

Im not a fan of salts except as a last resort. Fin rot if not too serious can often be helped with frequent wc. If time and tank size allows I would do every couple days.

It has gotten to a point where I consider it serious. It is my absolute last resort. I need a longer tube for my siphon so I can do pwc on my own. Right now I need someone to hold a bucket because the stand is so high and i am so short. So 25-30% pwc are happening weekly. I think 30% is being done. But I have started adding salts on Sunday and Wednesday, doing pwc on Sunday.

Santa came early today: a package from Big Al's with a Marineland Magniflow 220 canister filter and an Aquaclear 70. These will go on a 40-breeder.... which I don't have, yet, and won't until the next dollar a gallon sale. But I got these now because they were marked down for Black Friday, so I'm really saving money, even though they'll sit in their boxes for several months.

At least, that how I justified it to myself.

Epsom salt are magnesium sulfate (edited: wrong word not chloride was thinking of salt) but not a salt.

<><><><><><><><>

Did a pwc of 2G on the 6.6G SW nano.

Did some cleaning in the utility closet, found a couple things I had been looking for and a couple things that I forgot I had. Did a little sorting but nothing life changing - yet. Need a another storage shelf. And to just get rid of stuff.

My newer RFA moved yet again and today is closing up and not looking well. The rest look the same as usual.

Ho hi ho Merry Christmas!

I might need a 20L too. When does that $1 sale usually happen?

Just do multiple changes in a day. They can be done every couple hours without risk to the fish.

Plastic tubing can be bought fairly cheaply from home depot or other similar store.

Is it twice or three times a year?
