Wife picked this OBZ up last night in Knoxville. Came from LFS owners personal tank in the store. All fish in it marked not for sale but I made him feel bad for me driving 2 hours and not having what I wanted. 😁

Two more. Wouldn't let me add them on previous post. Also I know the tank looks haggard. We moved in with my parents while we wait to close on our house so I just left everything out. Click image for larger version

Hate to break it to you but that tank is really not suitable for africans. They really need a 4ft long tank minimum.

Dang, guess I'll put them in the bathtub then since the tank is slightly smaller than a 40b with nearly twice the water volume.

It's not about the water volume. It's the lateral swimming space and available real estate. With the exception of Angels fish don't really care how far up and down they can go but instead how far back and forth they can swim.

I'm not much for one on following general consensus of an Internet forum. I value peoples opinions but I don't take things as fact. When long time hobbyist (HUKIT and others) have successfully kept O's and other large fish in a 36" long 40 breeder, I do believe my little 3" Africans are just fine in a tank that's 30" all around.

Yes that is always a surprise. Now I have to net them out of the jungle because I am planning for the TT and BV to go in there in the not too distant future. Don't want the little guys to mess up my colors on the BV. I will likely just put them into the panted bowl which just has a couple snails. I am gonna clean out the filter soon to see if there are any in there.

That is dreadful stuff. So sorry to hear and can sympathize with you.

here are the pics of my excess plants bucket with the water weed flowers. The bugs got to them but a lovely surprise none the less.

Weird the other pic didn't come up here it is in the album though
