Wife picked this OBZ up last night in Knoxville. Came from LFS owners personal tank in the store. All fish in it marked not for sale but I made him feel bad for me driving 2 hours and not having what I wanted. ?

Two more. Wouldn't let me add them on previous post. Also I know the tank looks haggard. We moved in with my parents while we wait to close on our house so I just left everything out. ImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1436371311.962016.jpgImageUploadedByAquarium Advice1436371324.726092.jpg

Dang, guess I'll put them in the bathtub then since the tank is slightly smaller than a 40b with nearly twice the water volume.

It's not about the water volume. It's the lateral swimming space and available real estate. With the exception of Angels fish don't really care how far up and down they can go but instead how far back and forth they can swim.

I'm not much for one on following general consensus of an Internet forum. I value peoples opinions but I don't take things as fact. When long time hobbyist (HUKIT and others) have successfully kept O's and other large fish in a 36" long 40 breeder, I do believe my little 3" Africans are just fine in a tank that's 30" all around.

lol, I hate it when you think there isn't something in a tank for a while and turns out there is. I found 2 baby black neons in my tank after I thought it had been fish less for 3 weeks.

Yes that is always a surprise. Now I have to net them out of the jungle because I am planning for the TT and BV to go in there in the not too distant future. Don't want the little guys to mess up my colors on the BV. I will likely just put them into the panted bowl which just has a couple snails. I am gonna clean out the filter soon to see if there are any in there.

Not a very good day :(

A discus with columnaris and a cleaner shrimp that didn't handle a tank move well at all :(

Caleb

That is dreadful stuff. So sorry to hear and can sympathize with you.

here are the pics of my excess plants bucket with the water weed flowers. The bugs got to them but a lovely surprise none the less.

Both my German blue ram and my Bolivian Ram are eating much less. I've noticed that ever since my male German blue passed on (s.i.p) neither of them have acted normal. They both stay by themselves and don't swim around much, but recently they have been hardly eating anything. I have put in shrimp pellets which normally they love but they take one or two nips at it and then they swim away, and when I put flakes in they eat a few and then stop. Anyone have any suggestions on how to help?

Maybe a parasite or worm causing the lack of apatite?

I'm moving them to a 10 with much less fish so I can monitor how much they eat and how much food is available to them. In the 40 gallon they are in there are lots of small schooling fish that are like piranhas when it comes to being fed and it might be part of the lack of appetite.

I moved them to quarantine and I fed them. They seemed to eat a little more but still not much. Here's a pic of them nipping at a dried shrimp. They are so thin.

I got them to eat bloodworms, yay. Do you guys think I can move the female ruby crystal peacock back into the main tank now that the fry are free swimming and eating.
