Originally, my GF wasn't loving thoses tanks... (20g reef+ 29g hightech planted tanks)..

Now she really like to look at thoses fishs (plants, corals, alges, etc...)

I have a 10 and a 45 tall in my room lol and a 75 in the family room. Only because it's too big for my room. It took a lot of convincing.

When you have 3 cars and a boat and they all live out in the weather so theres room for tanks.

When you spend $1900 on a shed so there's more room for tanks.

When your electricity bill comes and its less than $2000 and you're actully glad.

This thread is great. At 42, I've found the adult/mom community is just as weirded out. Yay for online forums and local fish clubs!

It's like this for many hobbies, though. We just tend to be more spread out, I think. The vegans can all hang out together at Whole Foods, runners at the running stores and local 5Ks, and the Paleo, Keto, and Cross-fit folks at their gyms.

We just have to make a little effort to find each other. It's worth it!

It's CRAZY how much money you can throw at this hobby. Time, too, but that's more a privilege than a cost.

But I've leaned so much about biology, physics (light, fluid dynamics), and chemistry...

It's like I paid for a college course but got a free fish tank into the bargain.

Yes indeed, I've been in the hobby for almost 4 years now and have 4 tanks. Within that time I know I've probably put in over 3000.00 dollars. A third of that was on things I thought I needed and really didn't. Lots of mistakes are made in this hobby as well, so fun and addictive though.
