I thought people might want to know this. I currently have a price list from Wilson Pet Supply. In order to get the price list from thier website you need a customer ID and password. Well if you'd like you can name a fish and if it's on the 4 page list I have I'll tell you how much stores like PetCo, PetSmart, PetLand, etc pay for that fish. Just thought a few people might be curious about this if they were breeding fish for thier LFS and wanted to make sure they weren't getting ripped off. I'll list a couple right now.

Dalmation Mollie $1.95
Electric Blue Ahlii $3.95
Frontosa $9
Polyterus Palmas $8.95
Oto $.75
3" Black Piranha $24
Teacup Stingray $35

I don't know what the general rule is elsewhere, but the pet stores around here basically triple the prices on stuff... so if there is something in there for $3 then they paid somewhere around $1 for it... it's a general rule around here... things get rounded and it isn't exact but it's pretty close most of the time. I use to work at a pet store here and that is what they, and a few other local stores did. Also if I were selling something to a pet store and let's just say for an example they were paying me $1 a piece for something and they were selling them for much more than $3 a piece to everyone else, I would definitely ask for more money... If they ever say they can get it cheaper elsewhere, ask them to show you what they pay, not tell you what they pay... Ask to see their price list and as long as you stay under that they should buy from you.

I would be amused to see how much cichlids are--you have a couple listed. What about rams, apistos, zebras, brichardi....oh and what about common plecos? cory cats??
Yeah, scan in the list, if you can :D

I'm just about finished with the freshwater stuff. Then I'll post Pond Fish, Marine, and some various Live Rock and Live Coral.

Does the number in parentheses mean they get those amounts of fish for that price? Or is that the size in inches, which doesn't make sense for some.

I would guess that the numbers in parentheses imply that if you buy that quantity then you get them for that price (each). For example...if you buy 12 Blue Platys then you pay 57 cents each for them.

That is correct.
