I think I should get some shrimp. They're super cheap and seem pretty fun to watch. I got a few ghost shrimp once but they got eaten, but that is sort of okay right?

This hobby is sort of unique in that some animals are meant both as food and as pets in themselves. Take my hyrgro for instance. I really want it to grow and thrive and look nice, but I also get a kick out of the fact that my Gouramis like to eat it. I guess shrimp are sort of similar, meant as the lowest totem.

Well, if you're wanting to keep them as pets, you gotta be careful what you put them in with. Some fish enjoy them more than others.

What are you planning on stocking? Anything that will eat adult shrimp?

I don't think they'll eat the adults, but definately the babies.

Surprise!

Umm, kind of unexpected. I have nothing but 3 otos in my tank. I now have at least 2 baby fry that showed up today. I haven't found others yet, but I caught 2 and put them in a different tank. Pics if I can ever get a decent on.

I was a bit surprised, to say the least. I don't think it's the otos, so must've been something that came in on some plants.

Just a quick photo update. Tanks not looking too bad, growth is starting to take off, I've had to trim the stellata a few times already for it hitting the surface, and algae is almost under control.
