Can you keep this thread up to date as the fish age?

I'd like to know what they look like in, say, 6mo?

Yeah I will :)
Idk they're exact age
But I've had them for about 2 weeks in my qt
They're ranging from 1"1/2-2"1/2

I'm still trying to figure out what other community fish would do well & thrive with them

Discus need clean hot 85F water. They also will freak out with fast moving fish, and will not compete during food time.

Choose slow non aggressive fish with similar temp. I'd only recommend cories; but even they can freak out a discus when they get to playing.

I have cardinal and rummynose tetras with my discus. Also corydoras, Amano shrimp, nerite snails and a couple albino bristle nose plecos. Nice looking tank BTW.

I've done the snails too. I'm surprised by the shrimp, I'll have to try that one! I figured the discus would think they were a large blackworm and have lunch.

Amanos are almost as big as the little finger and are fast. Discus would have a hard time eating or trying to eat them. So far I don't have any problems with my discus trying to eat the amanos. Even if I haven't fed them for 2 days. Plus, amanos are great in a planted tank, they eat most types of algae.

I don't have any amanos; I have plenty of cherries and malawi (sp)... Still going to try it.

Mostly bc I'm tired of my shrimpy tank. ;). Collecting them to my discus tanks would be great.

I'm leaning over to trying out the amanos
& I was thinking maybe panda or bronze cories
& some type of tetra
I have 4 cherry barbs
1 spotted plec & albino plec
2 super small albino bichirs just trying to grow them out
