Well, for being only half planted i think it looks pretty good. You can tell i ran out of funds to pay for plants, lol. Hoepfully my christmas money will let me finish stocking, and then getsome more plants.

The tank is 50gal, low-med low light.

Hope you like the pics....

Very nice Waterpond! I got a nice gift certificate from BA, going there today. Not sure what I'm going to pick up, maybe a bigger tank!
In the spring I can help you plant that tank, I have tons of stuff.

Glenc wants to help me plant my tank :D i feel so honoured...lol

I went to my LFS today and got something i have wanted for a very long time, a pair of GBRs, i didnt plan on getting any, but when i got there, they had them in with demasoni cichlids and the two left (luckily male and female) looks so beaten up, my heart broke, so i bought them for 6 bucks each. Then i bought i HUGE, and i mean HUGE anubias nana petite plant. It is so nice. I have some pics of the new fish and plants. THe only plant i really love in the aquarium is the asian ambulia and the hygro polysperma, they both are just going wild!

New crypts(i think) anybody know what kind they are?

The massive Anubias nana Petite (hey, thats an oxymoron)... i had a nice chat with the LFS manager, and he gave me this for three bucks! Thats not all of it either, some cuttings went into my other tanks

just so you can see it in comparison to the tank and the other plants

The GBR i beleive to be male (you cant tell very well because it has alot of nips out of the fins

sorry the pics suck, i am still getting used to my new camera.

This is just a pic that i liked. The rams had awsome colour in the store, but are a little stessed ATM, so the should colour up again soon. They seem to be doing pretty well so far.

Now all i want is a farowella, a shoal of julii cories, and maybe another school of tetras, probably neons.

Thanks for reading everyone, hope you enjoyed the pics.

I hate to say it, but that new Anubias of yours doesn't look to be an Anubias Nana 'Petite'. The leaves look much too large. I would be much more inclined to believe that it is an Anubias Nana. Reguardless it is definately a beautiful plant and your tank is coming along nicely. I look forward to seeing how it grows in.

I keep anubias nana too, and the leaves are much bigger on my anubias nana plants. THe colour is different too. Thats what led me to beleive it was anubias nana petite. This plant is more than 6 years old too, i remeber when my LFS opened up, an they put a little plant in their discus tank. Then they tore apart their discus tank a few days ago (about 6-7 years later) and they had it in a goldfish tank, and i asked the manager if he would sell it, so he did :p It is definatly an awsome plant.

More pics to come, keep checking in

The leaves of an Anubias Nana 'Petite' are about the same size as one of your fingernails and no bigger. There are quite a few different varients of Anubias Nana these days, which can account for quite a bit of difference in leaf size, shape, and color. The growing conditions that a plant has been in can also play a major part in the appearance of a plant.

:D well, i learned something today, thanks joy

I have some more pics. Just wanted to show you how much this asian ambulia is growing

OK, so i have an unknown plant in my tank. I beleive it is some type of crypt, but i am not positive.

Directly behind the fish? what is that plant

:D i am my aquarium's papparazzi, :p

Very cool, your tank is looking great! I think your crypt may be Undulata broadleaf. I have this in two tanks, it looks alot like yours. I'll take a pic of mine and post it for you, see what you think.

With crypts it is often impossible to get a possitive ID unless you get them to flower, which is generally only possible when they are grown emersed. You can get a reasonable good guess based off of comparison of leaves with several varieties (Wendtii in particular), but for many others there are just too many that look extremely similar.

Hey Waterpond, here is shot of my Undulata broadleaf. It was really green when I first got it, the new growth is coming in pink. it is under 4wpg in my 20 gallon. See if yours does the same, maybe we have the same plant.

http://www.tropica.com/plant_print.asp i am thinking plant #111, Cryptocoryne walkeri (lutea). This stems on the leaves seem to have a little bit of red, just like the one pictured on the tropica website.

Anyways, it is an awsome plant. My LFS has it in a little open top planted nano, and it grew all the way to the top, and the lefe floats there like a lilly pad almost.
