6g fluval edge rescape

Hey its been a bit since an update so here we go...
Tank is doing well& so is the downoi(doubled in size)..
Have had this film on the surface of the take for over a week now&it seems to of reduced o2 levels within the tank(masses of shrimp at the surface)..tested:ammo 0,nitrite 0 & nitrate 20-30 ppm..
Despite performing wc's every couple days to reduce the film theres been a few more shrimp die..
Digging around in the spare parts tub I was able to find some unused parts from the sunsun basic skimmer attachment.. A little diy action along with some McGiver like creativity I put together a skimmer attached to the intake tube & in minutes the film is gone..
Also noticing more activity from the scrimp..

Also left out the eco has been in there for a little over 3 1/2 yrs...so very mature but with this tank since the rescape/light upgrade I've only just began to grow more demanding plants..so far so good..

Nice pics! Those downoi look like the tops of pineapples. I must have Pygmy downoi (yea, I made that up).

Thinking about pulling the ar&letting the gigantor downoi fill in that area..

Do it. You can always get more AR. Allowing more space between the downoi will allow more light penetration and runner development. I'm sure there is a demand for decent specimens.

Done&done...ar has been pulled along with the lud. sp. red to make more room for the downoi to expand into...trimmed some side shoots&planted in that area to help establish the population..
