A question about the Bactoball reactors
Here's the reactor
Is anyone using one of these and if you are, how do you have it running.. in line with your filter, outside the tank with a return spout or via powerhead ? I've been looking at this [acronym:ca07f6b0d6="Do it yourself"]DIY[/acronym:ca07f6b0d6] reactor and the first thing I see is there's no bottom in it. And then some reactors are sealed top and bottom. Click here Couldn't you make a [acronym:ca07f6b0d6="Do it yourself"]DIY[/acronym:ca07f6b0d6] reactor w/o the Venturi loop and just force it out the bottom ? What is the advantage of the Venturi loop.. recirculation ? Thx, Dave

sorry.. Im guessing you picked up on a link I put out there.. the venturi loop is just a design.. albeit a good one.. its not the only one.. most people just use some bio-balls and a good airstone to get the [acronym:60f502e5ca="Carbon dioxide"]CO2[/acronym:60f502e5ca] disolved in the reactor.. the venturi loop is just fancier and seems alot more effecient to me.. good luck :P

Thanks for that link green, it was real helpful.
Sometimes I tend to make things more complicated than they really are until I can actually get my hands on it and look at it Dave
