It is probably a common pond snail. I recently started a 10 gallon tank and I have found a few pond snails in the aquarium. I have picked out a few of them but have decided to just keep a controlled population. I have read on many sites than snails can be beneficial to the tank.

Pond snails stay small and don't really do any major damage. Just don't overfeed and you shouldn't have a huge population.

Probably a pond, could be a Ramshorn. Either way it is no need to worry. Make sure you washed that plant good. I disagree that pond snails dont turn into a huge population if you do not overfeed, sorry Just a Girl. If you don't have any snail eating fish pond snails reproduce very quickly. I have aquired all kinds of snails in a short amount if time venturing into planted tanks. My Yo Yo Loaches have destroyed them all, except for most of my MTS that I purposely intriduced.
