Are there any supplements/additives that we should have for our planted tank? Also what are the extra things that we would need to test for?

There are numerous supplements and additives available. What types and doses are dependent on the types of plants you have, whether you are injecting CO2, etc.
You need the following tests:
PO4 - Phosphate
NO3 - You probably have this one already.

well our plants are coming in the mail tomorrow, and we will have a bit of xmass moss, temple narrow leaf, micro sword and rotala indica. i ordered 3 of each. its a 15 gallon tall 2 wpg, we have a whisper 20 running. i was debating on how we should go about the co2 deal.

oh and our substrate is eco complete.

I would think you would be better off with a reactor.. I would worry about a whisper jamming up if CO2 was fed to it.. 2wpg might be a streach for micro sword.. but who knows you might get it to go.. it might grow a little slow..
