Another anacharis question

So I bought some anacharis just to keep my water chemistry sorta stable while I am doing renovations & substrate disturbance.

It is growing like a weed & even putting out roots.

I like it so am thinking of keeping it.

My question is once it is planted it will just keep getting longer & when I shortened my bunches last time the part that had been growing seemed to sort of die off & a sideways shoot came out. So if I plant them & they get long again (which they will) if I trim the tops will the whole length of the plant die & leave me with offshoots that have to be replanted in an endless cycle. Can I just take the longish bits & fold them over & bury them midway on the stem in the substrate to get them to root. I am really looking for a bushy effect & not so much long ropes.

I know czcz said trimming is fine in the other thread but I am nervous about the dying off thing.

Thanks

I think to get the best look, you need to clip good sized peices off the ends that you want to save, remove the old bottoms and replant the tops. It is a little more work but that way all your anacharis always looks fresh and vigorous.

Cut about 2 -3 inches off the top of the stem, and push 1 & 1/2 inches or so into the substrate leaving at least an inch above the substrate. This will cause the side shoots to branch out lower, this creating a "bushy" effect.
