Anubias Identification

So I am new to the aquarium hobby! I recently purchased Anubias from Petco I brought it home and attached it to some driftwood. After looking at some other Anubias on the internet I am no so sure that it is. what do you think?

Can you get a closer shot at the base of the plant? It looks an awful lot like a melon sword tied to a piece of wood.

Yeah, doesn't really look like anubias. I don't believe they would have white roots and I don't see a rhizome... Mine always had green "roots" that would grown down towards the substrate. I think aqua's ID is correct.

I agree it does look a lot like that melon sword. I moved it to the gravel.

Cool! I'd trim off the leaf with the hole in it if I were you. Cut it as close to the gravel as you can.

Yes. Instead of the plant focusing energy on trying to repair the leaf, it can focus on new growth. Plus, it'll just look better...

Melon Sword

Just thought I would update on the melon sword. It has sprouted 10 new leafs! it is a really cool plant and my Cory Cats love it
