Aqueon lighting?

I purchased a used tank and it came with an aqueon 17 W t8 24" light. It is in a 30 gallon tank. Will this light be sufficient to grow plants?

Not really. That's very low light. Anubias & Jave Fern maybe. I'm assuming it's a single bulb? OS.

Yes it's just a single bulb. What would you recommend.?

I would recommend at least a double-bulb light in my opinion. As OS said, you'd probably be able to have low light plants.

Hmm am I going to have to get a new top for tank? It only holds one bulb.

Most people here don't have lids anymore. It's either a mesh top/egg crate to keep fish from jumping or nothing!
