Are red clawed crabs bad to have in a planted tank?

Are red clawed crabs bad to have in a planted tank?
I keep finding some of my recently purchased Rotala wallichi floating at the surface of my tank and I'm not sure if my crabs keeps snipping the bottoms off or if they're just badly planted and float up...
Anybody have any experience with red clawed crabs?

I can't say for sure the crabs aren't doing it as I dont have any experience with them myself...but, wallichi is hard to keep planted. even in sand I've had issues with it floating up constantly. Lately I've just been letting the darn thing float.
