I use two 1 gal DIY generators w/ a bubble ladder in my 40gal. Today I read in a thread here about putting CO2 output directly into intake of HOB. Came back after two hours of having done so and plants are pearling like crazy. Will this method put inordinate wear and tear on the filter? Thanks for all the help. This forum has made my planted tank a success, and the mistakes a little easier to take in stride.

It can be hard on it. This isnt the greatest method of diffusion, but if you are going to stick in the intake... Use a Limewood airstone. It produces smaller bubbles thus less wear on the mechanism. But watch for clogging, or Kaboom Yeast.
