Bad Hair Algae in new tank.

I have a 10 gallon up and running for two weeks now. I put a 40 watt light in a week ago. Same day I dosed Flourish Complete and Flourish Potassium. Light stays on for 12 hours, in the last few days, the hair algae went from none existent to ALOT. Should I lower the amount of light per day? What can get rid of this?

reduce the lighting schedule if at all possible. Being a planted tank the plants should help to absorb some of the nutrients. manually remove whatever you can, It will probably take some time for the algae minimize since the tank is so new. The dosing could have possibly fueled the algae as well

Definately cut back your lighting to 8hrs per day until you get things back under control. Here are some articles on Algae that should help you to fix the problem.
