Best online vendor for pressurized CO2?
I recently decided to upgrade to a pressurized system for my 30-gallon tall rainbowfish tank. I'm looking for something fully-automatic. Any recommendations for online vendors? I can spend up to $350 (less is great, of course!)
Thanks! |

I've been checking some pressurized options myself, and see a lot of Milwaulkee Regs with pH controllers on ebay for (I beleive) the 150-200 range. If you can pick up the reg and controller for 200, you should be able to snag the rest fairly cheap. Before I made a killer deal for my own tank, I had almost decided not to buy a Co2 tank online, as I was having issues finding a place to get it filled w/o a tank swap out.

That's good to know - I'll be sure to check the local CO2 filling situation.

I picked mine up from Aquacave off Ebay, good price (and about 500$ cheaper then what was available from here, Canadian pricing for a lot of things suck, other things just aren't easy to find, milwaukee being one.).. They were also very quick to ship.
No, I'm not affiliated, I don't even live in the same country. just had a good experience with them. Here is a link to the exact one I ordered.. Tanks are best purchased from a local fire extinguisher place or a welder supply store, most 10lb tanks (should last about 1.5 years on your tank before a refill) go for 90$cdn (should be about 70$USD, mine was made in 74, but has been hydro'd every 5 years.. and is still in good shape. Plus they refill it for 15$.. |

I've used www.aquariumplants.com for Milwaukee regulators. Try to find a CO2 cylinder locally.
the CO2 diffusion method can be purchased for $50 or less, or DIY'd for $10 with PVC pipe.

I got my Milwaukee regulator, pH controller, and tubing here:
http://www.co2-canisters.com/index.h...arget=d32.html Click over on the left - "CO2 Equipment" and you'll see another link for diffusers and reactors, if you need one of those also.

After some recommendations I went with rex grigg. I think you can google his name and come up with the website. I just recieved the CO2 setup and it is TOP quality. Still trying to find where to buy a bottle though. And still trying to decide on a 5 or 10lb one...

Another vote for aquacave.com. Good prices and quick shipping for my Milwaikee Regulator, pH Meter, Reactor and tubing.

Thanks for all the responses!
Now a question of opinion - Is it worth it to get a "high quality" regulator rather than say the standard Milwaukee that everybody seems to have? I don't mind spending the extra cash for a superior product - I hate buying something that's just decent and then upgrading later...[/i] |
