I`m a rookie with plants but my Anubia`s have been just fine for the first 3 months I`ve had them.Now I`m seeing tiny black spots on most of the leaves.Any ideas?

It`s something on the leaves.They look like they were sprinkled with pepper.

Does it rub off easily?
My first thought is diatoms, espeically if this is a relatively new tank. However, diatoms are brown, not "black". But I could still see how brown diatoms on a dark green leaf would look black.

The spots do not rub off but they don`t seem to be spreading and the plants look healthy otherwise. Maybe describing them as looking like pepper was n`t quite accurate.They are spaced apart an inch or so. Thanks for your interest and I`ll keep you posted if there is a significant change.
