I have a 36 gallon tank with a T8, 17 watt, 8,000k, full spectrum daylight bulb. I use white petco sand as a substrate. I am wondering if i could plant low light plants in here like anubias, java fern, amazon swords, and anachris, if i use root tabs and dosed with fertilizer a couple times a weeek. Thanks

Low light plants may work. You could try a Crypt as well. Just don't exceed 8 hours a day on lights. I dose 1x weekly, but see how your plants do.

why shouldnt i got over 8 hours a day on lights? And i think this is pretty stupid but cryptocoryn, or however you spell it, are crypts, right?

Because if you run your lights longer you may grow Algae instead of plants. I use a timer. 4hours on/4off/4on so I get to enjoy my tank after work.

Crytocoryne = Crypts yes :)
C wendtii is a Crypt ;)

alright thanks and besides the plants i listed and you listed are there any other ones that could go in my tank?

Google Low Light Aquarium Plants.
Aquatic Plant Central has a good plant finder.

I've grown
Crypt Nurii Pahang mutated
C. Wendti
C. pontederiifolia
C. Balansae
C. Parva
C. lucens

Dwarf chain sword
Ludwigia repens
Myriophyllium mattagrossense
Bacopa monnieri
Dwarf tiger lotus lily
Lots of different mosses
Java Fern (reg, trident, and narrow leaf)
Anubias
Amazon Sword
And others
