Can plants grow on plastic wood

Hi, I was wondering if plants like Anubias and Java fern can grow on a piece of plastic driftwood. I live where a big piece of driftwood costs over $200 but I have a big piece of plastic driftwood that would fit perfectly in my 75.
 
Have Old Penn Plax plastic branches that once the algae and moss grow on look better then most real wood !
Probably why I still have them 20 years later.
I think they are discontinued no ,but last I got them a couple years ago they were in the bird section...
 
I grew some on sunken plane ornaments just fine - when I pulled the plant off, roots had managed to get a purchase somehow.
