Can plants live in chlorine?

I have a new aquarium, and two plants, (Anubuis and Wisteria) but my problem is that I have no tap water conditioner. So, what I am wondering is if they will be able to live in tap water for about 8 hours without dying

Eight hours, maybe. Plants can get chlorine toxicity if exposed to chlorine, but I'm unsure how long it takes (hours, days, weeks?).
