CO2 adapter

Do I really need an adapter to use this on the paintball co2 tank?

That depends if the regulator has a standard CO2 tank fitting (CGA 320) or a paintball tank fitting.
What is the brand and model of the regulator?
Do you have paintball tank (empty is fine) to see if the threads pictured match the threads on the paintball tank?

And I do not have a tank a yet. I am gonna buy the tank tomorrow but I need to know the right fitting.
