crypt movement

I think you will be fine. I have better luck moving around small Crypts with small roots. You may find it interesting that one of Travis's techniques when transplanting or separating is to trim the roots of Crypts to around 2", and after doing this mine grow low with little to no melt. Pretty cool.
 
I've tried Travi's tip of snipping back the roots, and it does seem to help. I'd still pop a root tab under them if you don't have a nutrient rich, aged substrate.
Of course, I roll my own root tabs, so they cost 10 cents...way more cost effective than buying them.
