Cuttle bone for Nerite snails and water chemistry in planted 90g

I believe the water hardness changes and the ph should go up. Two things that are wanted for snails. Correct me if I'm wrong.
 
I'd like to know the answer to this too. I'm adding some snails in a bit. Would like some calcium. Sounds like a good idea. I just don't want my ph to change significantly.
 
If by cuttle bone you mean what I think you do.. I don't think its big enough to do squat in a 90.

If you really think you need calcium you can get either calcium carbonate or calcium chloride from a homebrewer's supply.

Low calcium is gonna show up in a low GH (general hardness) reading. Be sure to test and calculate what you are adding.
