Diy root tabs stupid question...

So I just made up 100 root tabs with Osmocote Plus. (pink bottle) They might last me a year lol. So my questions are:

1. Do they expire or will they be ok in the Tupperware for that long.

2. I have PFS so about 3" apart under my plant groupings?

3. How do I know when I have to replace them? Just every 2 months?

Here's my dumb question...

4. I'm assuming the gel caps are going to slowly dissolve under the substrate, correct? So I don't need to take them out, just put new ones in right?

Sorry for asking you plant veterans these probably obvious questions, I'm just so new to the "plant world"!

I heard that O+ doesn't provide all of the nutrients that the plants need. I could be wrong though.

O+ does, the other types of osmocote do not.
