It looks like black hair. I have a 29 gallon with no co2. I have two marineland double bright led for lighting. I use root tabs for the plants I have. I have sword, rotula, and something that looks like java fern. I just discarded the hornwort I had in there.

I do not use co2 injection. I have the marineland biowheel 200b filter.
