It's just a question. Does fish care if a plant is plastic or real? Or is it just us that care?
No doubt about it, real looks more beautiful...just wondering: does the fish care?
except the ones that like to eat them of course :)

Some fish do while some don't. Fish such as bettas can have issues with their fins being shredded by plastic plants the same goes with any other fish that lines to rub over and hide in plants. Other fish that eat algae absolutely love plastic plants because of the biofilm and algae that readily accumulates on them.

I think they care if they're real. The overall tank's health benefits from real plants because plants help keep the water clean. Aquatic plants will make use of the nutrients fish waste releases.

And building on what's been said, there are some fish that like to have hiding spaces and relief from the lighting. It's something that you could do artificially, but pretty easily to do naturally as well.
