Does Java moss grow faster in lower ph?

I just want to know how do I make them grow faster because ever since I bought them like a year ago, they haven't grown and they're turning into a dark green color. Please help thanks!

The biggest factor with moss or any plant is light. Generally speaking, more light, more growth. pH, unless very high or very low, should not affect growth rate.
