Hello! I am looking for a sand for a planted tank. I am looking at Eco Complete Fine Grade and Seachem Flourite Black Sand. Which is better? For performance? Looks? Color? Thank you! :thanks:

I have the old Eco Complete, which is much coarser. It grows nice plants and I would imagine the sand type would too.
But I also have a tank with Moonsand. It grows great plants, and I really like the look. I got enough to redo one of my tanks with it, and the other will be redone in Flourite black sand, because it was a bit less costly and once rinsed and wet it looks great, and also grows good plants.

I am not sure the Eco Compete is worth the extra cash, frankly. But it is a personal choice in the end.
