This stuff is driving me mad!!!
After planting most of it started to turn brown. I assumed this was an algae issue however its only this stuff with algae and im overdosing excel at the moment and just killed off last lot of BBA.
I take it my batch I got was grown emersed so the browing is the transition period as the old shoots die off and new ones grow from runners etc?
I divided my hairgrass into smaller clumps... once the brown strands have mostly gone is it best to uproot the bunches and try divide them even smaller if neccasary to encourage growth?
Also when trimming/mowing is it best to trim the old strands that are brown at the start or just cut the entire lot down including any new shoots coming through?
