I'm at
NO3 ~12ppm,
PO4 ~2ppm after water change dosing, but then I let
NO3 crash (I only bump it up to ~10) while I add pinches (literally) of KH2PO4 every other day. I do this just because for months I left
PO4 alone while only messing with KNO3,
CO2, trace, and KCl. After adding
PO4 I quickly get lots of pearling, whether I do it at the middle or end of my main tank's photoperiod, so I roll with it. I'm usually at 75%
pwc/wk over two changes to make sure nutes don't get away from me, while I learn effects of individual nutrients,
btw. (I follow EI.)
Re fish: I like the little critters, so they can be hard to see. I only have 4 diurnal non-bottom/glass dwelling fish, psuedomugil gertrudae, and theyre 1" if that.
